DART Student Project Grants
The DART Program is pleased to offer competitive grants to students working on Division II or Division III projects that explore the nexus of art, design, and technology.
Student grants are made possible through the generous support of an anonymous donor, and a faculty review panel drawn from across the College selects the funded projects. The DART grants process not only supports innovative work at the intersection of design, art, and technology, but also provides students with the opportunity to learn the real-world skills necessary in preparing competitive grant applications.
Each semester $2,500 is awarded in grants to student. Recipients may receive up to $500 to support their projects.

Who decides?
Grant awards will be determined by a DART review panel, using criteria that evaluate:
How projects explore the intersections of design, art, and technology.
The intellectual/artistic/technological merit of the proposed projects.
The potential for the project to have a positive impact on the development of new artistic processes within the DART Program and the Hampshire College community.
If I get a grant, how will I get the funds?
Grant funds will be distributed in installments, and expenditures can be made in two ways:
Students may purchase materials and submit all documents required for reimbursement (i.e. receipts, receipt affidavits, and packing slips).
The DART Program office can purchase materials for students who provide necessary ordering information.
Please note: Grant funds will be distributed in installments. Because documentation is an integral part of the grant process, final installments will be withheld until documentation requirements and deadlines have been met.
